George W. Ensley, Jr. is the
president and owner of Ensley's Radio Co. He started life knowing
nothing but marine electronics and has continued in his father's
footsteps. George took over the company in 1987 when his father
retired and since that time Ensley's has continued to grow.
Holding a lifetime General Radio Operators License (GROL) with
ship radar endorsement and a GMDSS Maintainer's License, George
is licensed by the FCC. His other certifications include a
Senior Grade Certified Marine Electronics Technician Certificate
(SGMET), as issued by the National Marine Electronics Association
(NMEA), and a General Class (N4ZPO) ham radio operator.
George has served three terms on the board of directors of the NMEA and
is also past director of the Central East region. He is currently a member
of the NMEA CMET Committee responsible for testing, approval and certification
of NMEA member technicians. George is also part of the Technical Advisory
Committee for Marine Electronics magazine and is called on to review technical
articles submitted for publication.
